Geneva, 29 March 2024 – The Puma Energy Foundation is pleased to announce the publication of its 2023 Annual Report. This report marks a significant milestone as it showcases the Foundation’s renewed commitment to addressing critical health issues through a strategic focus on road safety and clean energy. At the heart of our new strategy lie two new priority areas.
- The road safety theme addresses an urgent global challenge with over 1.3 million people killed in traffic accidents every year. With road traffic injuries ranking as a leading cause of death for children and young adults globally, the Puma Energy Foundation recognizes the necessity of partnering with organizations dedicated to road safety education and safe mobility solutions.
- The clean energy area tackles the acute situation where one in ten people worldwide lack access to electricity for essential needs, leading to reliance on harmful fuels and indoor air pollution. Recognizing the interconnection between access to clean energy and broader development challenges such as poverty eradication, education, and public health, the Foundation supports initiatives providing clean, reliable energy sources to rural, last-mile households, and remote healthcare facilities.
Through strategic financing of organisations operating in low- and middle-income countries in Africa and Latin America, with a focus on last-mile and off-grid communities, the Puma Energy Foundation aims to make a tangible difference in health and well-being. We invite you to explore our 2023 Annual Report for insights into our refreshed strategy and the programmes implemented by our non-profit partners and social enterprises.
